Specialist Team and M&E Coordinator
Afrika joined the Access team as the Specialist Team and Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator in September 2009. Afrika’s main duties include supporting District Health Advisors (DHAs) and the management specialist team so as to help Access supported districts improve their national health indicators. Afrika also conceptualizes, develops, implements and supervises key Access programs and represents the Country Director in technical working groups at the national level whenever necessary.
Before working for the Access Project, Afrika worked for the National AIDS Control Commission as the Director of Planning, Coordination, Monitoring and Evaluation of Programs (2005-2009), and in numerous roles within the Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) from 1998-2005. Afrika received his MPH from the School of Public Health at the National University of Rwanda, his Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Project Management from the Rwanda Institute of Administration and management, his BSc in Economic Science and Management from the National University of Rwanda, and a Diploma in Commerce from the High Institute of Commerce at the University of Burundi.
