District Health Advisor – Gakenke District
Paul joined the Access Project team as the DHA in Gakenke District in May 2008. As the Gakenke DHA, Paul is responsible for conducting health center management assessments, reporting on the status and progress of Access Project interventions, providing hands-on managerial and technical support to all health centers in the district, and working to coordinate the efforts of the Access Project and its local partners.
Prior to joining Access Project, Paul worked as general practitioner in charge of ARV treatment therapy at Nemba Hospital and Kicukiro Health Center. He was also the director of the PMTCT program (Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission) initiated by Columbia University. After receiving his degree in General Medicine, Paul published research on the evolutionary and therapeutic aspects of proximal fractures of the femur at Kigali Teaching Hospital (CHUK).
