DHA – Rwamagana and Ngoma Districts

Charles joined the Access Project as the District Health Advisor (DHA) for Rwamagana and Ngoma Districts in January 2009. Among Charles’ many responsibilities as the DHA for Rwamagana and Ngoma are conducting health center management assessments, reporting on the status and progress of Access Project interventions, providing hands-on managerial and technical support to all health centers in the districts, and working to coordinate the efforts of the Access Project and its local partners.

Prior to joining the Access team, Charles worked for nine years as Director of the Secondary School of Techniques and Sciences in Busogo.  Charles was elected Mayor of Buhoma District in 2004 and Mayor of Nyabihu District in 2006.  As Mayor, Charles was responsible for coordinating and following up on the implementation of national policies and programs regarding good governance, community development and social affairs.  Charles holds a BA from the University of Rwanda (UNR) and a diploma in Education.
